Forward to Edition:

This work "To Belittle Is To Be Little", is a reminder of how we have to use our tongue. The tongue can be an instrument of peace, just as it can cause war among families, tribes and nations. "We use it to give thanks to our Lord and Father and also to curse other people, who are created in the likeness of God". (James 3:9). To govern this great instrument, we must keep four things in mind:
i) What we speak about,
ii) How we speak
iii) The times we speak and
iv)  The object for which we speak.
Never to say anything but good of our brother or sister, or at least not to speak ill of them, would in itself be a true programme of holiness.

Fr. Cheo Gregory Ngwa has explored the reason why people defame, blackmail and slander one another. He has made use of the saints scriptures, the church documents and the penal code. He has also made use of catchy and exciting stories to buttress the fact that to Belittle Is To Be Little. This is spiritual book for all. This little book is a treasure indeed!! It simplifies and gives solutions to lively issues on human relationships, more than the title itself suggests.

I am certain that everyone who reads this work with an open mind, allowing the Holy Spirit to take con troll, will come out as anew creation in Christ. We have all belittled someone at one time or another; and if we are still caught in the web, here is a way to serenity, peace, love and unity for husband and wife, brothers and sisters, relatives and communities. Read it now and pass it on to your loved ones. I need it, you need it, and we need it.
Important Details
We are all familiar with issues of gossip, defamation, slander, backbiting etc. In this work we are simply trying to be a catalyst. We want to articulate things that you already know. We have explored the reason why people defame, blackmail and slander one another. We have made use of the Saints, Scriptures, the Church Documents and the Penal Code.

We have also made use of catchy and exciting stories to buttress the fact hat to Belittle Is to Be Little. This is a spiritual book for all. Many of our predecessors have written and spoken about this topic. Inasmuch as the bulk of the materials used in this work are derived from spiritual books, references will of necessity be at a minimum. We merely hope that in reading through this work certain well-disposed souis may derive some enlightenment and encouragement from it.

We have tried to bring out the fact that we have little control over what happens in our lives, but we have a lot of control over how we integrate and react to events that happen in our lives. Our difficulties can become stepping-stones to a deeper faith in God. This work is solely inspired by our love for our brothers and sisters. It is our hope that it contributes, in however a small degree, to the realization of God’s kingdom of love. After all.

Love is the obligatory vocation of every soul. When we stop loving we stop growing and where love is active, sin is absent. May the gall and sulphuric acid that flow from our mouths be transformed into milk and honey for a soul that does not love vegetables. “My tongue within my lips I will reign For he who talk much, Must talk in vain”. (Professor Bernard Fonlon). May this rhyme be our principal of life and we shall live as true children of god the most high. Remember that the lord will bring to silence the man who secretly slanders his neighbors to silence. (Psalm 105:5)
